Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience with Acer service and see if anyone else has faced something similar.
I own an Acer Predator laptop that has been having a strange issue for quite some time — whenever I connect the power cable, the laptop repeatedly makes a plug/unplug beeping sound, as if it’s rapidly switching between charging and not charging.
This usually happens at the start of the day or after the laptop has been discharged for some time. For example, if I plug it in after the adapter hasn’t been used for a while or when I start it in the morning (even after keeping it plugged in overnight), it keeps beeping for about one to two minutes, and then stabilizes — after which the orange charging light stays on and everything works fine.
I recently visited an Acer-authorized service center for this issue. While they did fix a slight overheating problem, and I was completely fine paying the service charge as well as the board cleanup charges, the main charging/beeping issue still remains unresolved.
The disappointing part is that the service center insists on keeping my laptop for at least four days just to quote the issue, and even then, they are not sure how many more days it will take to fix. I did explain that this is my primary work laptop, and while I understand that it might take some time to observe since the issue occurs intermittently, four days just to quote the issue feels unreasonable.
They also don’t have any spare laptops to offer while mine is with them, which makes the situation even more difficult. I’ve been in touch with the Acer India Twitter handle, but so far the only response has been to contact the same service center.
Honestly, the experience at the service center felt like their main concern was whether the laptop is under warranty or not, rather than genuinely helping to resolve the technical issue.
I expected better service support and accountability for a premium Predator series laptop. I just wanted to highlight this here so that Acer will note such experiences and hopefully improve the process for customers facing similar issues.
