"FlexiCharger" Custom Battery Charge is bugged, stuck at current % ( ALG AL15G-52)

Hello community,

I have a specific bug with the Control Center software on my ALG (AL15G-52).

When I go to the "FlexiCharger" tab, the "Maximum Battery Charge" (100%) and "Recommended Battery Charge" (Stop at 80%) options work perfectly.

However, the "Custom Battery Charge" option is bugged. When I select it (for example, to stop at 80% and start at 70%), the software breaks. It takes whatever my battery's current percentage is (e.g., 54%) and reports it as "fully smart charged," and the battery stops charging or discharging. The battery level is just frozen.

This shows the hardware is fine, but the "Custom" setting in the app is broken.

My questions are:

1. Is this a known bug? I've already tried reinstalling the battery driver in Device Manager.
2. How can I do a "clean reinstall" of just the Control Center app? The Acer support site only has one 4GB driver package, which is too large to download just for this. Is there a standalone installer or a path to find it in the big file?
3. Is there any third-party software that can safely control the battery charge limits on this laptop?

It’s best to stop using the old Calibration/Optimization and battery charge limiting tools. In Windows 11 24H2 these features no longer function correctly and can actually interfere with Modern Standby, causing unexpected behavior.

Acer has also removed the battery charge limiting option from the latest firmware and support programs, so it’s no longer officially available.

There is also no real benefit in limiting battery charging. The idea that keeping the battery below 100% significantly extends its lifespan is largely a myth. Modern lithium‑ion batteries are designed to handle being fully charged, and Acer’s firmware already manages charging safely. The most practical approach is simply to leave the USB‑C charger or power adapter plugged in 24/7 and allow the battery to charge to 100% at all times.
