Hello,

I have got a few Acers Veriton X2610G, I have been trying to set up Wake On Lan so that they can all turn on in the morning automatically.

I disable "deep power off mode" in the BIOS, and set "wake on link" on "force" in the advance properties of the network adapter.

If Try to turn them off and after a short while I sand the magic packet, everything is working fine while if I leave them over night, some of them are not responding at "magic packets.

On this computer there is not light blinking on the NIC, but if I unplug the power cable and plug it back in the green LED on the NIC start blinking and I’m then able to turn them on remotely.

Has anyone had any similar issue or have some clue to give me??...

Thanks

Kind Regards

Davide

A successful deployment of Wake On LAN depends on many factors external to Configuration Manager. On the computer itself, these include the following:

    • The network adapter (and driver) supports the Magic Packet format that is used for Wake On LAN technology.

    • If you are using unicast as your transmission method rather than subnet-directed broadcast, whether the network adapter (and driver) supports this.

    • The appropriate configuration has been performed to support wake-up packets. The configuration will be vendor-dependent and is likely to include configuring the BIOS and the driver or adapter properties in Windows. However, for older network adapters, it could include connecting wires or moving jumpers on the adapter.

    Hi Davide

I have exactly the same issue with VeritonL670G's I have 30 of them set up in a classroom and all but 3 Wake-On_Lan every morning. The 3 rogue pc's do not until I remove the power cord and plug it back in. But over night they stop working again. All 30 pc's have identical settings in bios and xp.

    Any clues Please

    Thanks

    Brian
