I would like to express my complete disgust regards your methods.
First I will start with a praise
I have bought your Acer predator neo helios 18 AI with interl 275HX and nvidia 5070TI
it is a beautiful machine for sure and I have enjoyed it very much
my only problem was the audio a little bit
I use linux (nixos 25.11) exclusively but decided to see what you have in your predatorsense UI
after installing it I realized the laptop has no audio issues
shifting the audio settings made it very usable even for a guy who relies on audio
I am a web developer and I am not able to work on windows (especially 11) since it restricts my ability to do 99% of my work effectively
I just realized that the keyboard backlight is only tunable from windows and as soon as I shutdown (not even completely just in the process) my keyboard goes back to RAINBOW mode which is not acceptable since I am epileptic
Also under linux I have played a few games and the laptop goes at around 90 degrees celsius
which was what my old laptop used to do
no under windows 11 I realize the laptop never got above 3000 RPM on the fans WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
under windows the machine never goes above 80 degrees
none of this is tunable in the bios settings as I have checked over and over again
THIS means the laptop is only fully usable under windows 11 (booted) I did install it to change my keyboard backlight but it never saves to the BIOS or FIRMWARE since it is reliant on the predator sense which IS NOT available under linux
To top this off I have realized my model is PH18-72 but if I do download this predator sense it says my model is not supported
IF I download PH 18-73 tho it installs and runs very well
so to conclude this very verbose complaint
Will I ever be able to use this machine under linux (ubuntu did not work well either it's not just nixos)
Not for gaming or anything fancy
just being able to turn my fans ON when the machine is overheating
I know you can do better than this and I have seen it with my last machine also from Acer
I am just utterly disappointed at the moment and possibly never buying any product from this company anymore
