AN515-56-My battery light started blinking orange and has never stopped. Please advise.

Hi. I have an issue with my battery. a while ago my battery light started blinking orange and has never stopped. I found out it was my charger so i purchased a new Acer charger the exact one that came with the laptop but the problem didn't go away. I purchased a new battery the same one that came with the laptop but I'm still having the same problem. The laptop works fine whilst plugged in but as soon as i remove the charger the laptop turns off. I've tried every fix i can find but still having the same problem. I gave up on it a while ago and just used the laptop plugged in but now it's bugging me and i need to fix the issue.

Hi Bobby,

You are not posting your Nitro5 laptop model so we can only advise you generalities like a faulty power rail while assuming you have updated BIOS and Widows. You can try to reset BIOS by shorting the CMOS module after you disconnected the main battery: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black under the battery) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- terminals inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot. If that did not fix the charging you have a power rail issue and should bring the laptop to Acer Services to check the DC port and motherboard.
