V233H bd- How to connect the monitor? I did not get a signal.

Hi guys

I'm helping a friend who is quite elderly and COMPLETELY IT clueless.
He has an Acer V233H bd

The monitor is connected to a HP Deskpro via VGA cable and a VGA to Display Port adapter.

I set up this PC yesterday and connected it to an ASUS monitor with a VGA cable and using the VGA to Display Port adapter and it worked just fine. (I used a marker to indicate which DP the cable was to go into)

Sadly, I have no idea what he did but all he can see is 'No signal'. I can remote into the computer and it is working fine.

I suspect he needs to choose the source from the OSD Menu but nothing comes up when he pressed any of the monitor's buttons.

Assuming the monitor is not dead, is there any way to choose the source from inside Windows?
