Hi everyone,
I have a Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-72), and I’ve been experiencing heating and throttling issues, even when the laptop is idle and streaming Netflix. The fan speed stays around 2100 RPM. 😅
Upon opening the back, I noticed a visible dent on the heatsink, which I believe may be causing these issues. I contacted Acer support—they are planning to replace the fans, which seem to be working fine—but haven’t confirmed a replacement for the dented heatsink, which appears to be a manufacturing defect.
I’ve shared detailed evidence of the high temperatures and the dent with support. My laptop was submitted to the service center in mint condition, with all defects documented. I hope they will inspect and replace the heatsink along with any affected components.
Has anyone faced a similar issue or have advice on ensuring the heatsink is properly replaced in cases like this? 🙏.
Thank you
