Screen Flickering Issue - Games in Background and Desktop - Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71, RTX 5070 Ti)

Hello, I'm experiencing a persistent issue with my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (model PHN16-71 with RTX 5070 Ti).

Since updating to BIOS 1.07, the complete screen disconnections I had before were fixed, but now I'm dealing with constant screen flickering in these situations:

When I have a game running in the background
While browsing the Windows desktop
When switching between applications

The strange thing is that the flickering completely disappears when I enable Adaptive-Sync on the monitor and play games in fullscreen mode, but as soon as I return to the desktop or minimize the game, the flickering comes back.

My configuration:

Monitor: 2560x1440 @ 240Hz
Connection: USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 certified cable
Graphics mode: Hybrid (Optimus enabled)
BIOS: 1.07 (latest version)

Is anyone else with this model experiencing this same flickering issue?

My main question is: just like Acer released BIOS 1.07 that fixed the major disconnection problem, are there plans to release another update that will refine this constant flickering issue?

Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Yours is the PHN16S-71, as the screen and graphics flickering issues were cause in the past with the Intel cpu graphics, try to run this laptop only on the Nvidia graphics, set it up in bios and predator sense, try that and see. That is what I've done on my PHN16-71 and haven't had any issues in any high end games, its a different laptop I know but its worth a try. Good luck hope this helps.

Yes, just wait for Acer to release another bios as this laptop is only new and Acer does release updates for know issues like you are having.

I just did that, but it didn’t solve the issue. As I mentioned earlier, the BIOS version 1.06 caused the screen to connect and disconnect repeatedly. Yesterday, I updated to version 1.07 and that issue was fixed, but the flickering problem still persists. Interestingly, this only happens when I connect via USB-C to DisplayPort - I assume it’s because the dGPU is directly connected to the HDMI port. I hope this can be fixed in a future update, since my previous problem has already been resolved.
