Po5-650 Bios update. World of Warcraft is saying I need microcode 0x12F or newer.

To get straight to the point World of Warcraft is saying I need microcode 0x12F or newer.

However 0x12C is currently installed bios release date "05/16/2025"

I just recently got setup on this PC and have noticed crashing in other games aswell… I got around some of the crashing by forcing dx11.

I went back to the previous bios on 12/3/2024 as it was the only one to mention the microcode however no success as I continue to get the same error.

After re-installing the most recent bios, still no luck. If anyone has ran into this same problem or has any tips/tricks. I'd like to get this error message to go away and stop the crashing!

missed warranty by a few months hopefully the CPU isn't to far gone as I've heard the intel rumors of the 13/14 gen eating themselves

Install the NVidia App (which also installs with any new driver if you don't have it installed) as this app supports World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft Classic and World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic with NVidia's ultimate settings for your gpu and you should not need a cpu microcode bios update, as Acer provided Microcode 0x12B with bios version R01-B2 and if you have version 0x12C cpu microcode installed, then its even a newer microcode, I don't know where you will get the version 0x12F, as Intel docent provide them online and/or wants these microcode's updated.

But for a game like WoW to ask for a new microcode 0x12F, update to a version 0x12F your PO5-650 desktops 13th Gen cpu must be overheating and not functioning to the specs suitable for this games.

Upgrade the cpu cooler to the Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black type cpu cooler, as this cooler will keep the cpu allot cooler. Also, see this article about the 13/14th Gen Intel cpu's overheating and getting that warning in WoW game HERE for a solution or upgrade to an AMD cpu mobo that you can use the ram and PSU with and its just an easy swap. good luck and hope this helps you out further.
