A17-51M-54F0-I just can't get the BIOS to recognize it, currently showing as no drive installed 2TB M.2 upgrade

Hi

I've recently purchased this laptop for my folks and just can't seem to get visibility on my hard drive upgrade. I've gone from the factory Kingston 512GB to Kingston 2TB (SNV3S/2000G) and I just can't get the BIOS to recognize it, currently showing as no drive installed. USB Windows installer can obviously not see it either. I've upgraded to latest 2.08 BIOS but the drive just won't show. I've tried it in an external caddy and initialized and set a simple volume and put some files on it that way to check functionality and that all worked fine.
Am i doing something wrong or is this a compatibility issue. Anyone upgraded to successfully with a different brand?

If your Kingston PCIe Gen4 2280 NVMe SSD isn’t detected in BIOS after replacing the stock drive, here are key steps to check:

• Your model likely has only one PCIe Gen4 slot, which acts as the boot drive.
• The new SSD must be:
  • Formatted as GPT, not MBR
  • Contain a bootable OS, ideally Windows 11
  • Installed via clean install, clone from the previous SSD, or restored from backup
• Confirm BIOS storage mode is set to AHCI, not RAID
• Reseat the SSD and verify it's fully inserted
• If still undetected, try booting from a USB installer to initialize the drive.
