I'm facing a strange issue with my Acer Swift 3 SF313-53-532J and would really appreciate any help or advice.
What happened:
I was working on Android Studio when suddenly my laptop display went completely black and stopped working. The laptop itself seems to be running, but there's no display output.
What I've tried:
- Restarted the laptop multiple times
- Held the power button for 30 seconds
- Tried various troubleshooting steps
None of these worked to bring the display back.
Important observation:
When I connected an external monitor, it worked perfectly fine! I was able to use the laptop normally through the external display and even backed up all my data.
Professional diagnosis:
I took it to a local repair shop where they:
- Performed a general service
- Thoroughly examined the display panel
- Even sent the motherboard for checking
Everything checked out as working fine. The technician mentioned that the display cable (LVDS/eDP cable) could be the possible culprit, but nothing is confirmed yet.
My question:
Has anyone experienced the same issue? If so, what was the solution? What could be the actual problem if the display, motherboard, and everything else tests fine but only the internal screen doesn't work while external monitors work perfectly?
