I have an Aspire ES15 and about two days ago it restarted and when it booted up it goes to the acer screen with the round loading icon but it doesnt do anything beyond that..
I have done the hard restart 3 times and it says preparing automatic repair but again.. its just the black screen with the acer logo.. with the circling icon and "preparing automatic repair".. beyond that it does nothing.
i have pressed f2 and went into the bios.. i checked the time to make sure it wasnt a battery issue.. thats fine. I went to make sure the UEFI was turned on instead of legacy and it was.. Disabled and enabled secure boot.. neither one did anything.. Tried legacy and it took me to some press any key to boot thing but it didnt do anything more than that.. so i switch it back to uefi.
i have tried pressing alt f4 and it doesnt do anything.
Ive been trying to reinstall windows on it with a usb boot drive. I have made sure the boot drive is 1st in the list.. I have saved and restarted but it still does nothing. I cant even get into any kind of safe mode..
i took part of the back off that shows just the RAM and seen that the left side of it wasnt pushed down all the way so i clicked it back in but still nothing
i have even took a pin to the battery thing on the bottom for 30 seconds and still nothing..
the only thing its doing now is either shows up Acer with the loading circle or Acer with the loading circle and "preparing automatic repair".. i have left the pc on for an hour with both thinking it might of just been a really slow load up but nothing happened..
idk if i missed anything but any suggestion i have tried and honestly at this point idk if its a hard drive issue.. if thats the case what kind of hard drive should i get to replace it considering the age of the laptop.. a new laptop is out of the question so im trying to make due with what i have now.
any more advice would be appreciated. if you need any more information, let me know.
thank you for your time
