Hello everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. This is my first time posting on this forum, and I would appreciate your understanding as my English is at an intermediate level.
I am writing to seek assistance with a persistent issue on my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (2023) laptop. Here are my system specifications:
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050
- Windows Version: Windows 11 (23H1)
- Current NVIDIA Driver: 576.88
- BIOS Version: 1.18
The primary problem occurs whenever the system switches to the dedicated NVIDIA GPU. When this happens, all non-gaming applications crash, the display goes black, and the entire system becomes unresponsive. The only way to recover is to perform a hard shutdown by holding the power button for several seconds.
To resolve this, I have attempted a number of troubleshooting steps, including:
- A clean reinstallation of Windows.
- Updating the BIOS to the latest available version (1.18).
- Experimenting with various NVIDIA drivers, from the most recent releases to older, reportedly stable versions.
Following advice from other posts on this forum, I used the LatencyMon utility to analyze the issue. After implementing several suggested fixes, I have seen a slight improvement—the crashes are now less severe and occur less frequently. However, the underlying problem has not been resolved. I have attached a screenshot of my latest LatencyMon results for your review.
I am reaching out to this knowledgeable community in the hope that someone has encountered and resolved a similar issue. I would be immensely grateful for any guidance on how to:
- Effectively reduce the high DPC latency values reported by LatencyMon, which seem to be linked to the NVIDIA driver.
- Permanently fix the system crashes and instability when the NVIDIA GPU is active.
This laptop is a crucial tool for my work and represents a significant personal investment for me. Achieving system stability is of the utmost importance.
Thank you in advance for your time and any assistance you can provide.
Best regards.
