Hi everyone — I’m using an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) and I’m running into persistent performance problems when I try to use websites (including my WordPress backend). Whenever I open or work on my site — Electrician Singapore — the browser will suddenly freeze or become unresponsive, pages take forever to load, tabs hang, and sometimes the whole system stutters or crashes needing a forced reboot. The slowdown isn’t limited to browsing: the backend of WordPress will lag when I try to edit pages or save drafts, and media uploads seem to stall or fail intermittently.
I’ve noticed the issue often presents as long pauses (several seconds) where the cursor freezes, CPU spikes briefly, fans kick in hard and then performance tanks — other times the system gradually becomes sluggish (tabs load very slowly) until I have to kill the browser. It sometimes behaves like a thermal/throttling problem, and other times like a software/driver hang that only a reboot clears. This sounds very similar to a number of Nitro 5 threads I’ve seen here where users report FPS drops, freezes, or sudden system-wide lag.
Steps I’ve already tried: fully updating Windows, reinstalling/updating GPU drivers, checking for BIOS/firmware updates, disabling background startup apps, testing in different browsers, clearing caches, and running basic hardware diagnostics. I also tried power-plan tweaks and a clean boot — nothing has fixed the random freezes and the website/WordPress responsiveness issues.
Has anyone here with the AN515-57 (or the Nitro 5 family) experienced the same behavior when using websites or web-based apps? If so, what ultimately solved it for you — driver rollback, a BIOS/firmware patch, thermal repasting, a Windows reinstall, or something else? Any troubleshooting steps or permanent fixes would be hugely appreciated.
