Acer, once again, is showing its poor program development and management.
My laptop is ANV16-41. I just did a clean install of Windows, original iso from Microsoft, not some modded one.
I let it update everything available in Windows Updates and the Windows Store. I downloaded every drivers from Acer's support website for my model and Nitro Sense (the latest version available on the website for this model, although I know there are newer versions, but Acer just can't upload them properly for all models, so I just stick to the version that Acer recommends to eliminate any issues like incompatible software).
I installed all of them successfully, launched Nitro Sense, and checked for live updates in the live update section ⇒ no updates available. I went to customization boot logo, inserted a GIF with the smaller size allowed by the software just to be safe, restarted, and nothing changed.
I have tried everything: BIOS is the latest version, I reset BIOS settings to default (F9), fully formatted the SSD, and did everything else anyone can think of when trying to solve a software problem. It’s such a disappointment when Acer introduces a feature, but it can’t work if the user cleans installs Windows, and it doesn't work just by installing the original software from the manufacturer, and users have to run around and need to find the solution, do some tweaks just for the system to work in its original state.
This is not a new problem; it has been around for more than 2 years, I believe, when searching on other communities for a solution. And this is just an example of how Acer's poor software development and management.
And please don't tell me to use the default boot logo for stability or something like that. Other users and I did not require Acer to have integrated this feature; Acer did it, and then they have to make it work. You can't just introduce a feature, let users use it without restriction, and then advise them not to use it because it is unstable. This problem is just a small example of many issues that Acer has related to its software across all its products.
I can't believe that I have to click on every single driver to download them in 2025, while other brands have long offered a single software that scans, downloads, and auto-installs all necessary drivers. Meanwhile, Acer's users have to manually install each driver. Or if you don't have auto-update apps, at least let users download many drivers with one click instead of clicking many times for each driver.
Talking about the auto live updates for Nitro Sense, Predator Sense, or even older apps like Care Center—are they even working, or are they just for decoration? Even though many drivers are missing from the system, it only shows about three drivers, one of which is just for the camera, I believe. After that, there are no updates from the live updates section.
