Hi everyone — I’m using an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515 series) and I’m running into a frustrating problem that sounds very similar to a lot of threads I’ve seen here. Whenever I try to open my website — SoCool — or log into the WordPress backend to make updates, the laptop becomes unresponsive: pages hang for long stretches, tabs stop responding, the browser sometimes freezes completely, and on a few occasions the whole system locks up and needs a hard reboot. It’s not just one browser — I’ve tried Chrome, Edge and Firefox and the behavior is the same: long stalls, heavy UI lag when editing posts or loading the WP dashboard, and occasional crashes or massive slowdowns right after a page load.
I’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting: Windows and BIOS updates, Intel/NVIDIA driver updates, reinstalling NitroSense/Nitro Quick tools, disabling browser extensions, clearing caches, testing in safe mode, swapping browsers, running malware scans, and checking disk/SSD health. I’ve also verified background tasks and resource usage during the hangs and didn’t see a single clear culprit (no constant 100% disk or memory saturation that explains it). Despite all that, the problem keeps happening intermittently — sometimes right when I open the WP editor, other times only after 10–20 minutes of browsing.
Has anyone else with a Nitro 5 (AN515) seen the same behaviour when running sites or WordPress backends? If so, what actually fixed it for you — BIOS/different driver versions, specific NitroSense settings, thermal/power tweaks, or something else? Any guidance would be hugely appreciated.
