Aspire 3 15 won't turn on after low battery shutdown

Hello! I have an Acer Aspire 3 15 laptop. It shut down earlier due to low battery. After connecting it to the charger and turning it on, it shows “Critical Low Battery” for about 3 seconds, then shuts off again.

The charging light indicators only turn on while that “Critical Low Battery” message is on the screen. I saw some posts suggesting to reset the battery using the small pinhole at the back — I tried that, but it still doesn’t work. Now, it doesn’t even show the “Critical Low Battery” message anymore. When I press the power button, the red charging light blinks three times, but nothing else happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this or what might be causing it?

You can try a battery reset first:

Locate the small pinhole on the back of the laptop marked with a battery symbol
Insert a straightened paperclip or pin and press gently until you feel a click
Keep pressing for 5–10 seconds, then release
Connect the AC adapter and try to power on the laptop

If the system still does not respond after this reset, the internal battery may need to be replaced. For a compatible replacement, check Acer’s official parts store or an authorized service provider:

Here are a few things you can try:

Use the original charger & outlet: Make sure the power adapter and cable are firmly plugged in and the outlet works.
Charge longer: Leave it plugged in for at least 30–60 minutes before trying to power on—deeply drained batteries sometimes need time to recover.
Hard reset again: Unplug the charger, press the battery-reset pinhole for about 15–20 seconds, then reconnect the charger and wait a few minutes before pressing the power button.
Remove external devices: Disconnect USB drives, SD cards, or accessories that might draw power.
Check charger light: If the charging LED never lights, the charger or battery may be faulty.

If it still won’t power on, the battery or charging circuit may have failed and you’ll need Acer service or a replacement battery/adapter.

It sounds like your battery might be completely drained or not charging properly. Try leaving the laptop plugged in for at least 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button. Sometimes a deeply discharged battery needs time before it starts charging again.

If it still won’t turn on, disconnect the charger, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and try again. Also make sure you’re using the original Acer charger.

If nothing changes and the light still blinks three times, the issue could be with the battery or charging circuit, and it’s best to contact Acer support or a service center to have it checked.
