My storage information keeps fluctuating a lot. How do I fix this storage issue in Nitro ANV15-41?

A few days ago, I noticed I suddenly had only around 800MB of free storage left even though I hadn't installed anything. I'm viewing my storage by right clicking on Acer (C:) properties. I then tried to see what was causing it and then checked again. I then had around 40GB free and then from there my free storage amount kept fluctuating insane amounts every few minutes from very close to zero GB free to the highest so far was around 60GB. I used WinDirStat to view my storage and the windows pagefile.sys is very large. It's 42GB. How do I fix this storage issue?

Run Disk Cleanup: Search for and open the Disk Cleanup tool to remove temporary files, system files, and other unnecessary data.
Check Task Manager: Open Task Manager and look for processes using excessive disk resources; this can reveal applications or system processes consuming space.
Scan for Viruses: Use your built-in antivirus or a reputable third-party tool to scan your system for malware and remove any threats.
Manage System Restore: Access "Create a restore point" from your search menu, select your system drive, and adjust the maximum usage for System Restore to free up space.
Check Recycle Bin: Right-click the Recycle Bin on your desktop and select "Properties" to see its current size and adjust its maximum size, or choose to empty it.

The methods 2,3,5 don't work. I did a scan and it doesn't say I have any viruses. I noticed recently that upon startup the CPU usage is very very high. Today the total CPU usage went up and over %170 percent and there was one processes in task manager that was almost identical to ADESV2BW.exe and was called "ADESv2Svc.exe" and "ADESv2vc.exe" was using around %10 percent of CPU upon startup. I have an Acer Nitro V15 and I saw ADES V2 BW before when I first got the laptop and on the first day it was always lagging and freezing for a few seconds upon startup, however I never had saw "ADESv2Svc.exe" before and I also see that "ADESv2SvC.exe" and "ADESv2Svc.exe" both just have "(C) ALL rights reserved" and not the usual "©Acer Incorporated ALL rights reserved" that all other Acer processes have. Is it a virus?

I think it's more likely that something had happened during my last windows update that caused some errors. So should I just reinstall or install another Windows update to fix this? It seems that the Windows UI is bugging out at times as well. I'll try reinstalling or installing another windows update and I'll update this thread to see if it worked. My storage is also still fluctuating wildly right now but nothing seems to be actually changing except for the displayed numbers. Can anyone also please let me know what irregular processes to look out for that might be a virus in task manager? Also, is my laptop faulty somehow? as it was always lagging and freezing since day one and seems to be progressively getting worse every startup, The laptop is very clean and virtually no dust at all on it or inside the fans.

What is your Acer computer model number and what size C: drive do you have, as having 40GB of free space is way too small for todays OS and proper operation for the new Win-11 25H2. I suggest that you buy a new boot drive (either 2.5" SSD or M.2) of at least 1TB capacity as a boot drive and clone your old C: boot drive to the new drive with the new drives suggested cloning software. My computer is a Nitro ANV15-41 and the C: drive has a total capacity of 475GB. After reinstalling windows update, all of the bugged UI and other problems were solved. However my space is still fluctuating. I was wrong earlier about the storage being a visual bug. Something is constantly being adding or removing space to my storage or some file is constantly decreasing or increasing in size. I used WinDirStat and saw that pagefile.sys is constantly changing in size from 6GB to 40GB and so on, so far it hadn't went past 100 GB yet. It just keeps fluctuating randomly in storage amount under 100GB. Right now my page file space is 15.3 GB and it keeps fluctuating even when I'm just web browsing. Is there something wrong with my RAM that is causing this issue? Why does Windows need more than 40GB of free space to operate the OS, is this why the space is fluctuating? because it's constantly using or not using disk space? Thank you guys for all your help so far!

Leaving it at default ensures stability and lets Windows optimize usage based on available RAM and SSD speed.– SSDs are highly efficient for virtual memory operations, so letting Windows manage the page file on SSD is the best approach.

Additional cleanup and performance tips:

– Open Task Manager → Processes and click the “Processes” header to sort by count. If more than ~70 background apps are running, uninstall the ones you don’t need.– Disable OneDrive syncing if you’re not using cloud storage actively.– Use Storage Sense (Settings → System → Storage) to remove temporary files and other junk data.– Avoid third-party “optimizer” tools—they often interfere with Windows memory management and cause more harm than good.
