Hello Acer Community,
I am seeking help for a persistent WIFI issue with my new Acer Swift Neo SFN14-54H (purchased on 20/09/2025). From the first day of use, the laptop has been experiencing severe WIFI problems.
The main issues are:
- Random Disconnections: The WIFI disconnects from the network after some time. When I try to reconnect, it fails with the error "Can't connect to this network."
- Poor Speed: The internet speed is often very slow and unstable compared to my other devices, which work perfectly on the same network.
Crucial Observation:
I noticed something important while testing. When I use my mobile phone's hotspot and keep it very close to the laptop (within a few inches), the disconnection issue is very rare. However, if I move the phone just 1 or 2 feet away, the disconnections start happening again.
Troubleshooting I've already done:
To confirm the problem is with the laptop and not my home network, I tested with other WIFI networks and the issue persists. My other laptop and mobile phone have no problems connecting to these same networks.
I have also been in contact with Acer Support and followed their instructions on several dates, but the problem remains unsolved.
- 27/09/2025: Performed a network reset from Windows Settings and restarted the system.
- 01/10/2025: Uninstalled the WIFI driver from Device Manager, restarted, and reinstalled the latest chipset and WIFI drivers.
- 02/10/2025: Used the Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) to download and install all latest drivers, including the Intel Wireless driver, and restarted.
Despite all these steps, the WIFI disconnections and slow speed issues continue.
Could anyone in the community please advise on what might be causing this? Is this a known hardware fault with the Wi-Fi card? How can I fix this, either permanently or with a reliable workaround?
Community, please let me know if you need any more information from me, such as driver versions or system logs. I will share all the required info.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
