Hi everyone — I’m using an Intel Iris Xe (i7-1165G7) system and I’ve been running into consistent problems when I try to work on my site, Camp Hollow (including its WordPress backend). Whenever I open the WP dashboard or try to edit posts/pages, the browser will start to stutter, the editor occasionally becomes unresponsive, and sometimes the whole browser freezes or crashes when saving changes. Pages that normally load quickly will hang for long periods, and I see noticeable slowdowns switching between the post list and editor — it’s making basic site maintenance really difficult.
I’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting: Windows updates are current, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel graphics driver (including trying the OEM driver from the support site), cleared browser cache, tested in multiple browsers (Chrome and Edge), disabled extensions, toggled hardware acceleration, checked for WordPress plugin conflicts and tried a clean theme, and reset a few system settings — but the problem persists. It feels like the freezes are tied to rendering/graphics activity in the browser or some interaction between the integrated GPU and the browser/WordPress UI.
Has anyone else using the i7-1165G7 / Intel Iris Xe seen the same behavior when running web apps or WordPress? What ultimately fixed it for you — a specific driver version, BIOS update, Windows rollback, driver cleanup tool, or something else? Any troubleshooting steps or workarounds that actually made a difference would be hugely appreciated.
