I purchased a new laptop a few days ago in Brazil. Options are limited here so I bought a laptop that looked nice and seemed to be good quality. I took it home and tried to boot Linux with a portable USB. Then I discovered that ACER has sneakily ensured that customers are stuck with Microsoft Windows. Not only that, I'm not even able to change the language settings because the system is designed for Portuguese only. I bought the ACER laptop because I liked it. I never signed up for Windows and feel like I've been tricked into paying for all the expensive add-ons that come with it. Not only that, there isn't a global email address or contact details for to register my complaint. I'd really rather swap this laptop for another one that will allow me to choose my own operating system.
