I recently purchased the Acer Aspire Go 14 (AG14‑71M, Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 125H). From the start (or after some time), I have been facing serious issues with its touchpad. The problem is:
The touchpad is not smooth — the mouse pointer is jumpy, erratic in movement, sometimes lags or does not respond properlyIt often behaves like a generic “HID-compliant touchpad” with minimal functionalityI checked the Acer support downloads for this model, but there is no dedicated touchpad driver listed for it — only generic drivers are shown Acer CommunityThe Windows default driver (hidi2c.sys) is very old (June 2006), and it’s not updating properly Acer CommunityI have tried uninstalling & reinstalling, rebooting, but the responsiveness remains poor Acer Community
I have already attempted:
Reinstalling/uninstalling the touchpad driver via Device ManagerChecking for driver updates via Acer’s support siteRestarting the laptop, removing connected peripheralsLooking for touchpad settings in BIOS/UEFI (but I found none)Adjusting touchpad sensitivity settings in WindowsVerifying that the touchpad is enabled (not disabled via function keys)
None of these steps have resolved the issue.
Please provide the correct, official touchpad driver for my exact model (AG14‑71M)Please also confirm whether the touchpad issue is a known defect in this model, and if there is a firmware/BIOS update or fix in the works
