Nitro AN515-56, Bricked laptop it was acting strange, when turning on, didn't boot.

Hello, i got a bricked laptop with me, to be exat a Nitro AN515-56, it was acting strange, when turning on, didnt boot, and blinked 5 times a blue light. Righnt now it turns on, lights keyboard and turn on fans, but doesnt boot, it's a brick.

I am trying to flash it a new BIOS, but on the website you only give us a .exe file, that contains a 21MB .bin that i am assuming is too big for this chip.

I am wondering if anyone as a correct file for me to flash onto the motherboard, or if anyones know the start and ending bytes of the original bios so i can cut the one in the website.

Given the symptoms—no boot, keyboard lights and fans active, plus the 5-blink LED code—it’s likely the system firmware or embedded controller is corrupted. Attempting to flash the BIOS manually via USB, especially with a full-size .bin from the EXE package, may worsen the issue or brick the EEPROM entirely.

At this stage, the safest course is to take the laptop to an Acer-authorized repair center. They can:

Reset the system to factory defaults using proprietary tools
Reprogram the EEPROM with the correct firmware version and byte structure
Diagnose any deeper board-level faults if present

DIY flashing without the correct header and byte map risks permanent damage. Acer’s service team has access to the right tools and recovery protocols.

The symptoms that you are getting could be either a frozen EC chip or bios, first do a proper Hard Reset and see if that unfreezes the EC and bios chips.

If the hard reset doesn't work then it could be that the EC chip needs replacing and programming or the bios is also corrupted. You can reflash the bios with the crisis utility disk (see PDF below) but Acer does not provide the GH51HX64.fd file that has to be copied to the root directory of this Crisis Utility disk below for the AN515-56, you need to construct this USB and extract this appropriate .fd file as described in the guide below and flash the bios and see if its the bios chip that is the problem with your Nitro laptop.

If you can't do this, I suggest that you take your laptop to either Acer tech Support in your country or a tech that has the proper flashing tool and can properly analyse and fix this laptop for you, as it could either be the bios or the EC chip or other thing that are wrong with the laptop. good luck and hope this helps you out, btw I've been using this same laptop for the last 4 years and the same happened to my laptop and a hard reset fixed this problem perfectly.

Nitro AN515-56 Hard Reset - Remove eleven (11) screws from the base cover to the upper case of your Nitro AN515-56 laptop, starting from the upper side, pry to release the upper side latches, continue releasing the remaining latches. Then remove the lower case.

Press the power key for 15 seconds to release all power to the laptop and then disconnect the main battery cable from the mainboard, then take the main battery out. Then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the bios batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug (as shown at plug below) to reset CMOS and then take all the ran out.

Leave the laptop like that for at least 30-60min so that the EC, Chipset and bios chips reset completely and properly and then reconnect everything, if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x ram module and alternate the two ram modules and see if its not the ram that is faulty and causing the boot problem, as the laptop should turn on and boot properly with an image on the screen.
