This little machine has been a trooper ! Can't gripe of the performance for the $$$$$ even in 2025 ! I have scoured the boards her and scoured he internet as well but still have some confusion so were better to ask for clarification than from the experts e.g. other users ! I have a Acer Aspire TC-895 V:1.0 AKA Acer Aspire TC-895 (U3E1) circa about 2021. I have upgraded the memory to the max 32G some time ago still running quiet well However I use a HDD/SSD health utility to monitor health of drives across an array of machines this utility called Hard Disk Sentinel reports the boots SSD as being healthy and its history outside of about 37 unplanned hard shutdowns over 5 years is quite good ! The OEM drive that is currently in the machine is listed as a KINGSTON RBUSNS8154P3512GJ1 obviously quite dated and difficult to get much data on other than it is a 3.0 PCIe NVRM M.2 2280 Some of this provided by Google and Duck Duck Go AI which clearly state may contain errors ! I would like to upgrade the current SSD to a 1 or 2 Terabyte Drive and my understanding is the PCIe standard on my Aspire TC-895 (U3E1) is PCI Express 3.0 — PCI 3.0 Drives offerings are becoming slim but a few available I also believe that a PCI 4.0 could be used but bottle necked down to PCI 3.0 speeds but I am trying an approach that mitigates potential issues so 3.0 it is ! The drive I have my eye on right now is as follows ! Sandisk SDSSDA3N-2T00-G26 PCIe Gen 3 M.2 2280 NVME @ 2 TB. Can anyone give dependable advice as to TC-895 (U3E1) compatibility with this NVME . Simply will it work. I have about 45 years experience on working on PC's but the days of Seagate 20 and 30 MB MFM and RLL Drives is long past 😏 trying to educate myself and stretch my tech investments as long as I can Thanks in advance to all who reply !
