What options do I have after having my laptop's motherboard failing both 11 months after purchase and 3 months after being replaced?
Back in May 2025, I shut down this laptop for the night only to find it refused to turn on the following morning. While it was under warranty, I took it to the original retailer for a diagnosis and their technicians concluded that the motherboard failed. Once the replacement motherboard arrived a few weeks later, they installed it and the laptop was working fine again.
Cut to over 3 months after completing the fix, my laptop suddenly died while in use (opening a new browser tab) and again refused to turn back on. Technicians at the same retailer again diagnosed the device to find that it's the same problem with the new motherboard failing.
My laptop's warranty expired shortly after the initial fix but I would appreciate learning what I can do to fix this and prevent further faults e.g. identifying and ordering a replacement motherboard or a different, compatible one.
I've kept this laptop in good condition with good airflow ever since I purchased it and since taking it in.
Thank you
