Intel Iris Xe (i7-1165G7) — Browser & backend freezing / severe lag

Hi everyone — I’m using a laptop with Intel Iris Xe (Intel Core i7-1165G7) and I’ve been running into a repeat problem whenever I try to work on my site brightsparks (including the WordPress backend). When I open the admin pages or try to edit posts the browser will hang or become completely unresponsive: tabs freeze, the UI lags for long periods, sometimes the display briefly blacks out and then recovers, and on a few occasions the browser process spikes the CPU/GPU so badly I have to force-quit and reboot. I’ve seen a number of posts here describing almost the exact same symptoms.

I’ve already tried the usual/basic fixes — Windows and BIOS updates, reinstalling and rolling back Intel graphics drivers, clearing browser cache, testing different browsers, disabling extensions, and checking power/graphics settings — but the problem persists. It feels intermittent but reliably appears when working with web apps or editing the WordPress backend.

Has anyone else with the Iris Xe / i7-1165G7 seen this behavior, and if so what actually fixed it for you? Any driver versions, BIOS settings, or other workarounds that solved the freezes would be hugely appreciated.
