Hi everyone — I’m using an Intel UHD integrated GPU on a Nitro 5 AN515-57 and I’ve been running into the same kind of problems I see other people here talking about. Every time I try to open or work on my website dRAW Architecture (including the WordPress backend/dashboard), the browser will start to stutter and then freeze — tabs hang while pages load, uploads time out, and the WP admin can become completely unresponsive. Sometimes the whole system slows to a crawl for a few minutes, and on occasion the screen will glitch or the laptop will need a hard reset.
From what I can tell, the integrated graphics usage spikes and the system hands control back and forth in a way that kills responsiveness: background tasks for the site (uploads, image processing, page previews in the editor) either lag enormously or fail. I’ve already tried the usual fixes — Windows and BIOS updates, reinstalling Intel and GPU drivers (including using Intel Driver & Support Assistant), DDU uninstall/reinstall of drivers, switching graphics preferences, and basic Windows troubleshooting — but the issue keeps coming back. I’ve even booted to safe mode and seen different behavior, which makes me wonder if it’s a driver/software interaction rather than pure hardware.
Has anyone else using the same Intel UHD iGPU on a Nitro (or similar) experienced WordPress/backend/browser freezes like this? If so, what steps actually fixed it for you — driver versions, BIOS microcode updates, firmware, or a specific settings change that stopped the iGPU spikes? Thanks in advance for any pointers.
