Hi everyone,
I own a Nitro 5 AN515-57.
I’ve been experiencing a strange issue with the battery. Even though the laptop works perfectly on battery power, Windows often shows it at 0%, or says it's "plugged in, not charging", or doesn't detect the battery at all.
Sometimes, after reaching 100% charge, the laptop shuts off immediately as if it had no power. When I turn it on again, it shows 0% and only works if plugged in. But after a few minutes, the battery icon suddenly updates and shows something like 95%, and the laptop keeps running normally without being plugged in.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
- Reinstalled the Microsoft ACPI battery drivers
- Disabled Fast Startup
- Ran battery calibration
- Tried to generate a
battery-report.html
, but sometimes Full Charge Capacity appears blank - Registered the device on acer.com
- I’m planning to update the BIOS (currently still on the original version)
Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue on the AN515-57 model? Did updating the BIOS fix it for you? Or did you have to replace the battery?
Thanks in advance for any guidance or shared experience.
