I recently got the Acer Connect M4 5G mobile Wi-Fi / hotspot (which supports Nano SIM, eSIM, vSIM) and now need to activate an eSIM plan. The eSIM provider is asking for the EID (Embedded Identity Document) of my device, but I can’t figure out where to find it.
Here’s what I have tried / what I know so far:
- The EID is a unique identifier (typically 32 digits) associated with the eSIM chip.
- On phones / tablets, it’s often found under Settings → About → EID, or via dialing
*#06#
on devices that support that. - However, since M4 is a hotspot / router device (not a typical phone / tablet), its user interface may differ, and the usual “dial code / phone settings” approach may not apply.
So my questions:
- Does Acer provide a way to view the eSIM EID through the M4 device’s local UI (its touchscreen, or admin panel) or via some diagnostics menu?
- Could the EID be printed on the device’s casing, or on the box / label / sticker?
- If not via UI or hardware label, is there a “hidden” or debug menu (e.g. via USB, web interface, command line) to retrieve the EID?
- Is there documentation or firmware that may list the EID / IMEI / eSIM identifiers?
- If none of the above is possible, what alternative identifier (e.g. IMEI, ICCID) might the eSIM provider accept instead, or what workaround might exist?
If anyone using the Acer Connect M4 or similar router/hotspot with eSIM has found their EID before, your detailed steps would be a huge help.
Thank you in advance!
