I have asked this question twice before but after receiving some great help the two posts appear to be locked and any thing I post soon dissappears - so here goes again
In order to upgrade the internal storage I had to remove the clip-on back cover, I rteserched this well and I thought that I knew just how to proceed. Unfortunately whilst removing the rear cover I managed to (I believe) irreparately damage the small on/off mechanism which transfers the pushing of the on/off button to the very small on/off button on the motherboard.
This small mechaism was attached to inside of the rear cover using two very small (about 0.5 mm diameter) plastic sipgots and then welded in place. Unfortunately the two pins have been sheared off making a repait (I believe) impossible.
I have attached two photos of the inside and outside of the rear cover, indicating the position of the torn-off mechanism.
I accept that the mechanism is almost certainly irreplacebale so what I am after is a comp[lete replecement of the rear cover.
Possible rear backs have been detailed but further information has been asked for. I hope these two photos provide the necessary information.
One further query I have is that the origibal cover naturally had the computer identification plate. Do I need to transfer this palet or will the replacement cover come complete with the identification plate?
Please help me find the becessary replacement rear cover.
Many thanks
