Hi everyone,
So, i bought the N50-640 2 Years ago, and from the first moment i was not so happy with the pc but i bought it in a hurry, not thinking on upgrades and so on..
First specs were:
Intel I5 12400F with sh1tty stock cooler (pretty high temps; around 80-90 Celsius)
RTX 3050 8GB OEM
Acer SSD Nvme 1TB
16GB Kingston Fury 3200
Stock PSU 500W and stock Mainboard; no RGB whatsoever
First upgrade was CPU Cooler, i used Deep Cool AG400 BK 120mm Cpu tower cooler with Rgb which i couldnt get to work properly. Anyway, i also got 2x120mm Cooler Master mf120 halo fans with rgb and installed one at the front (got out the SSD case) and one above the RAM slots so i could get proper air for Cpu Cooler and also make sure the GPU wont get too hot.
From 85 C got al the way down on max 57 C while stress test and while gaming, it wasnt getting hotter than 58C never. Was really happy that i could fit an tower cooler and also making it functionable.
later on figured smth out, and got rgb lights working via SATA and installed an little controller to be able to change color profile…
Then came one more RAM Module, also from Kingston, but the first one didnt want to function at full speed… googled out and find out it must be same oe number… got another one with same oem number and got it to work at full speed, so now its 32gb 3200mhz.
The next one was custom side plate so i can always see my masterpiece inside haha :D
Bought one plexiglas plate for around 15-20EUR and cut it to dimesions, the edges all around taped with magnetic tape and got it on the case… i think it looks okay, im not profi in cutting plexi :P
then i got one more SSD Nvme Predator 1TB, with a little bit of adjustments via Command prompt got it working. So 2tb of memory will be alright now.
Then, lately i googled and googled, i wanted to upgrade the gpu, and it seemed to me it will not be able to upgrade because of sh1tty mobo with 8pins and adapters stuff because of the psu also…
finally, i said lets try something. i bought Gigabyte rtx 5060ti 16Gb gaming OC with 3 cooling fans. 28.1 cm and got it somehow inside, connected and powered up. runned the first test, made some adjustments because 5060ti was using arround 170-180W and that was for me risky… Undervolted it at 950mV, runned bench, lost only 2-3 fps but at the highest peak was 131W at 56 Celsius and thats it. Also paired with i5 12400f without bottleneck whatsoever; gpu almost all the time at 97-100%. Really happy how it turned out.
i got me an really worthy PC, and im really happy how it got out because i didnt saw it at first and wanted to sell it because of the not upgradable Mainboard…
Now im proud that i can say im also one of few of them who made this PC to a little machine being able to play God of War Ragnarök on ultra getting beetwen 120-130fps, The Last Of Us also on 100 FPS ultra and so on… i just wanted to share my build, maybe it could help someone out there looking to upgrade…
