hello i have recently asked about my laptop Acer predator helios 300 PH 315 51 like which ssd will work in this and i got reply like any gen 3 or above like gen 4 nvme will work but today while ordering i got stuck in a point like i saw my supported version in HWinfo and its showing sata so can you can help me in figuring out will this samsung 990 evo plus work on my laptop or not or only sata 3 interface will work

Your Predator PH315-51 which is a 2018 released Acer gaming laptop has a M.2 SSD slots that can take a PCIe Gen 3 x2 type drive or a SATA 3 M.2 SSD drive, this is how these early M.2 slotted laptops were in those days. The Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, PCIe Gen 4x4 will fit into your laptops M.2 SSD slot and will work but your PH315-51 will never ever utilize this drives max speeds of the Gen 4 x4 lane 7150MB/s read/write speeds, as your PH315-51 M.2 SSD slot speed operates at max 2000MB/s, so its a waste of money and a Gen 4 x4 M.2 SSD drive.

Your PH315-51 has an M.2 slot max speed of a Gen 3 x2 lane M.2 SSD drive which is at about 2000MB/s read/write. So buy a Gen 3 x4 lane type M.2 SSD as the PCIe 3 x2 lane M.2 drives are not sold anymore. I suggest you buy a WD SN520 or a SN530 model drive as that is the best and most compatible M.2 SSD drive available today or get a cheap 1TB PCIe3x4 type drive from eBay that is around INR 3,500 if you are on a budget.
