Aspire Go 15 (AG15-42P) Windows 10/11 Install

I have a AG15-42P laptop. It came without any operating system, and now I want to install a Windows on it.

The Windows setup fails at the start, with a "driver missing" message, offering me to install a driver.

I have no clue what driver should I install.

All the articles says that the IRST drivers must be installed, or the VMD must be turned off.

However, in the BIOS (not even after pressing Ctrl-S) there is NOT a single setting regarding VMD,

and, the support page, searching for the specific laptop, does not offer any IRST driver.

Has the Go 15 VMD?

If yes, where are the drivers? Or how to turn it off?

If not, what other driver the Windows setup requires? And where I can find that?

You're right to question the IRST/VMD advice—those apply to Intel platforms, not AMD. The Aspire Go 15 (AG15-42P) uses an AMD chipset, so there's no VMD toggle in BIOS and no IRST driver needed.

The “driver missing” error during Windows setup is usually caused by one of the following:

USB installer created with incompatible settings (e.g. wrong partition scheme or file system)
USB 3.0 port or hub causing detection issues during setup
Corrupted or incomplete ISO image

Here’s how to fix it:

Recreate your USB installer using Rufus:
- Download Rufus from https://rufus.ie/en/
- Use a verified Windows 11 ISO (23H2 or newer) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
- In Rufus, select:
  - Partition scheme: GPT
  - File system: NTFS
  - Target system: UEFI (non-CSM)
  - Enable “Remove requirement for 4GB RAM, Secure Boot, TPM”
Plug the USB into a native USB 2.0 port (not a hub or extension cable)
If setup still fails, try a different ISO or use the Media Creation Tool:

Once Windows is installed, install the AMD chipset drivers from:
