Recently had my Nitro V 15 laptop repaired (replaced mainboard) after soft bricking it from installing new drivers. Now, after receiving the device back from acer I noticed that when attempting to plug the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI no display would be outputted.
I attempted to use different monitors and HDMI cables but none were still displaying. After that I tried updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers through their website as Nvidia experience and control panel refused to open, updating that allowed me to use both apps and that's where I found both monitors only using the intel UHD graphics rather than the dGPU. I set the preferred processor to Nvidia's and restarted the laptop but to no avail.
looking more closely in the settings I noticed that the GPU is no longer being displayed when checking system specs but is present in device manager. I don't know if its apart of some windows update but I remember the GPU being apart of those specs. Opening nitrosense for the first time after the repair there was a line of text under the gpu frequency saying "Discrete," gpu is idle this however disappeared after opening the application a few more times.
Is there any way around this?
