Performance and possible screen saver issue in Nitro AN515-53.

I have a Nitro AN515-53 model that I have had over 5 years now. I have 2 concerns right now, I'm trying to improve my systems performance, some programs take a while to load. I would like some advice or if someone could point me in a good direction that I can look it up myself. Second, I've been having an issue in which whenever I close the laptop (monitor down) while it is still powered on, when I open it back up, the screen remains blank and requires a restart in order for me to access my programs. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this issue and if they know of a fix for it if it is possible.

Hi DJ_John,

If your Nitro AN515-53 is still running on an HDD as the boot drive, I strongly recommend replacing it with a 2.5" SATA SSD. The difference in responsiveness and load times is night and day—especially for older systems.

Also try the following:

– Reset your Power Plan:

• Go to Control Panel > Power Options > “Edit Power Plan”
• Click “Restore default settings for this plan”
• Then switch to “High Performance” or create a custom plan optimized for gaming

– Increase RAM if you're still running 8GB or less. This model supports up to 32GB (2x16GB DDR4 2400/2666 MHz depending on BIOS version)
