Fan Control broken in new AcerSense versions for SFX14-71G-7978

About 90% of the time I use my laptop for remoting to other computers, SSH, typing in notepad, etc... And about 10% of the time I use my laptop to play VR games. For about a year I'd switch modes by using Fn+F to select between Silent and Turbo. But, a recent update to AcerSense removed the ability to change fan speed.

If I press fn+f in newer updates, it doesn't do anything, and the fan control appears to have disappeared from AcerSense completely. If I uninstall the new version of AcerSense and reinstall AcerSense_Acer_5.0.1596_W11x64, then everything works as expected.

I want to stress that this laptop in "Normal" mode is completely unusable, as the fan is much too loud to be used in social settings or when someone is about to sleep... And when I use VR in normal mode the keyboard becomes too hot to touch. How can fan control be re-enabled, or how can I prevent new versions of AcerSense from autoinstalling?

Acer has the AcerSense version 5.0.1752 as the oem app on the Product Support page for your Swift SFX14-71G laptop, if you have an older AcerSense app version 5.0.1596 for Win-11 that works perfectly to control fan speeds and it keeps the laptop cool, then keep a copy of that older version software and what Acer has on its support page also, as that is a newer version. The update to the AcerSense app happens automatically within the app and you can’t stop that, luckily Acer does not update this app often. I suggest that you use either the older version 5.0.1596 that you have or the version 5.0.1752 that Acer provides as that is all that you can do.

Make also sure that you have the last bios version 1.56 installed for your SFX14-71G and also install all the Win-11 24H2 updates to the last OS build: 26100.6584, then install the NVidia App and update to the last NVidia game ready driver version 581.29 for the RTX4050 gpu and do a Custom > Clean Installation of this new drive and also play all supported NVidia App games within this app, as doing all this will ensure that your Swift laptop performs at its best and operates at its coldest temps, as your laptop should not have its fans blaring from normal usage if you have done the appropriate updates like listed above.

Btw I’m speaking from personal experience, as I'm using the previous model Swift SFX14-51G with the i7-1260P cpu and RTX3050Ti gpu at fixed 16GB LPDDR5 type ram and upgraded the boot M.2 SSD to a fast gaming WD 1GB SN850X Black PCIe 4x4 M.2 SSD boot drive but this laptop with those specs does NOT have its fans go crazy except if I play high end games, as your SFX14-71G should not be doing that if you have updated and installed all the above software. try doing all that as I'm sure that your laptop will perform much better, good luck and hope this helps you out further.
