Hi Everyone.
I purchased a brand-new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (NH.QQVEM.002). When I configured and started using the laptop, I noticed that after a full charge, the battery drained extremely quickly. With very light usage—only Wi-Fi, MS Word, and Google Chrome (no YouTube, no other applications, no gaming)—at 50% brightness and dark mode turned on, the battery was discharging at a rate of about 3% every 2 minutes.
To my shock, the laptop switched to power saver mode just 101 minutes after being fully charged. I believe the battery is not performing properly and is delivering far less backup than expected. I even conducted benchmarking tests, but the online store (Noon-KSA) rejected my return claim, stating that the laptop provides 2 hours of battery backup.
I would like your advice on the following points:
- Is a battery backup of only about 2 hours under very light usage acceptable for this brand-new laptop?
- What should the expected battery backup be under heavy usage with multitasking and gaming?
- What options do I have to return the laptop if the seller refuses to accept my return request (which I submitted within 7 days of receiving the laptop)?
- Additionally, when the laptop was returned to me after the rejection of my claim, it was very poorly packed—the box was open and not sealed, there was no separator between the screen and keypad, and the promotional booklets, stickers, and free gaming offers included in the original package were missing (or possibly stolen).
This is my first time purchasing an Acer laptop. Previously, I used a MacBook Air and a Lenovo 6th Gen i3 laptop (purchased in 2016), which still provides more than 3 hours of backup after 9 years of use.
I sincerely seek your advice on how to deal with this situation and return the laptop.
Thank you.
