Hello,
I plan on buying Acer Predator Helios 16, with i9-14900HX and RTX-4080. (Model Number: PH16-72; Part Number: NH.QNZSI.002)
It comes with 32GB (162) RAM and 1TB SSD. I want to upgrade the RAM to 64GB (322), and add a second 4TB SSD into the empty NVMe slot.
I have heard that opening the laptop backside will void the warranty. But at the same time, Acer lists the maximum RAM capacity supported by them for this model as 32GB on their website. Therefore, if I do the upgrade myself, I will end up voiding the warranty, but Acer might not do the upgrade for me either.
What do you think I should do? Will self upgrade really void the warranty? Is it possible for Acer to upgrade my laptop as I mentioned while still maintaining the warranty? Should I give up on the warranty after all?
I am from India and plan on buying the laptop from either of the links (likely Flipkart over Amazon):
