C24 1610 Not powering up, Initially you hear the fan trying to start but then nothing.

18 months ago we bought an Acer Aspire C24 1610 for my son for schoolwork.

It has been working fine but now doesn't power up. Initially you hear the fan trying to start but then nothing.

I've tried unplugging, changing plug sockets, power drain etc. I have been able to (on occasion but not consistently post a power drain) get the machine to power, fan on, monitor light on but nothing else is happening. No Bios, boot up, or anything visual on the screen.

I've ordered a new power pack to rule that out but i'm fearing it could be the motherboard or RAM.

Has anyone else had a similar issue or can offer any advice please?
