Hello Acer Community,
I’m using an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71, i7-13700HX, RTX 4050) and recently started facing an issue with the left-side fan (I believe it’s the GPU fan).
Issue Details:
- The fan initially started making unusual noise while spinning.
- After a short time, it would sometimes stop working completely unless I lifted or tilted the laptop.
- I opened the laptop and cleaned the fan using a WD-40 contact cleaner (no residue type). After that, the fan started spinning again, but it still makes noise occasionally and feels like it may fail soon.
- PredatorSense shows that both fans are detected, but I’m worried about the long-term reliability.
Temperatures Observed:
- CPU: 80–86°C under load
- GPU: 65–70°C
- System: ~70°C
What I Need Help With:
- Can someone confirm if the left fan is for the GPU in the Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71)?
- What is the official part number for the left (GPU) fan, so I can purchase a replacement?
- Is it possible to buy a pair of fans (CPU + GPU) instead of just one?
- Any suggestions on whether Acer Service can provide a replacement locally, or should I order from AliExpress/eBay?
I just want to make sure I get the correct replacement fan before making a purchase.
Thanks in advance for your guidance!
