Hi Acer Community, this isn't a question so much as additional help that I wanted to add to a thread that is already archived/locked. If forum owners can move this post to that thread, even better. Here is the original thread:

TL;DR - sometimes spec-compatible ram with functioning ram sticks still doesn't work and you just need to try a different brand.

So I also have the exact same model: Acer Aspire E15-576G-81GD and wanted to max it out to 32GB so I purchased this ram:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353553108924
Crucial 32GB (2x 16GB) KIT SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600Mhz PC3L-12800 204-Pin 1.35V Memory
CT204864BF160B.16FA
It didn't work; a single stick at a time worked in either slot in my ram bays confirming that my laptop ram slots still worked and both ram sticks worked but my laptop wouldn't boot with both. I spent days hunting through forums, meticulously comparing stats from AIDA64 Extreme and CPU-Z to ensure that, yes, my motherboard and CPU did support 128-bit dual channel RAM functionality allowing usage up to 32GB and that, yes, the RAM I purchased was absolutely compatible.
I also tried all the troubleshooting steps - took out CMOS battery to reset BIOS, set and reset the RAM firmly in its slots, went hunting for hidden BIOS menus to see if I needed to toggle some special option, downloaded and installed the latest bios, tried mixing 16GB stick with 8GB stick, etc. etc. Nothing worked.
I finally gave up and just ordered a different brand of RAM; it arrived, I popped both sticks in and, boom, computer booted right up with 32 GB running flawlessly and zero troubleshooting. Why? I have no idea - exact same specs as previous RAM - low voltage 1.35V, 1600MHZ, etc. Maybe someone can chime in with some ideas, in the meantime folks just try another brand.
I purchased AXIOM 4X70J32868-AX - 16GB DDR3L-1600 LOW VOLTAGE SODIMM FOR LENOVO NOTEBOOKS.
On the bright side my BIOS was two versions out of date so that needed an upgrade and I replaced a dead battery so not a total waste of troubleshooting time.
Anyway, hope this helps someone else out there the way the original thread above (plus many other acer trouble shooting threads) helped me. Cheers!
