i have an acer aspire 15-61 & experience black screens of death

i have had this laptop for around 2 weeks, when i load 3d games it crashes to black screen of death, ive checked every driver, every piece of software, reinstalled with the same result, so i wiped the thing clean and clean installed it to a clean wiped ssd, works fine sometimes, sometimes it black screen of death crashes, it seems to get very hot, this should not be happening with a virtually brand new laptop, its really not seeming to be a stable platform, before you start to blame it on user abuse, ive been building computers since the 486 & Pentium pro's came onto the market, i used to build gaming pc's for a living so i know what im doing, my main pc works perfectly as does my 4 year old hp laptop(which i also clean installed to get rid of the bloat & poor o/s install), this is most definitely not my doing, its a serious overheat fault by my estimation.

You have to appreciate that the Aspire A15-61M is not a full on gaming platform, its a compromise and laptops do get hot, I don't know which exact A15-61M-xxxx you have and if its the top of the range Aspire A15-61M-R8B0 model that has an AMD Ryzen™ 7 8840HS cpu with its Radeon™ Graphics and 16GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type ram, but even this high specs model, has its gaming limits and can't play high end gaming and will overheat causing eventual crashes due to not having a dedicated NVidia gpu for gaming.

What I suggest that you do is make sure that your Aspire A15-61M runs its last version 1.04 bios update with its last AMD gpu driver and all of the Win-11 24H2 updates to the last OS build: 26100.5074 - 29/8/2025 and also increase its ram to 32GB min and operate this laptop with a good gaming tablet cooler like the Thermaltake Massive 12 Max Notebook Cooler to keep your laptop cool, as doing all this will increase the gaming capabilities and reduces the black screen crashes considerably due to overheating which is the cause of these crashes.

Otherwise and if you want a gaming laptop, consider the Acer higher end specific gaming models like the Nitro or Predator series laptops which I'm using the Predator Helios Neo PHN16-71 with the Thermaltake cooler that is an excellent gaming platform and I've updated its ram to 64GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 and it works perfectly and never ever had/has black screen and/or crashes ever.
