Any way to lower the refresh rate for Helios Neo 16s?

I’m searching for a new laptop and the Predator Helios Neo 16s hits all of my requirements for a fantastic price, the only dealbreaker is the horrible battery life that is partially caused by the refresh rate being locked at 240Hz according to reviewers and other customers. I searched online and saw posts from 2-3 months ago that said it was possible to do so using Custom Resolution Utility to lower it to 120Hz but it also noticeably dims the display. So I was just wondering if there are any other ways to reduce the refresh rate down to 60/120Hz, or if there are any news with Acer concerning a software update to support lowering the refresh rate?

To improve battery life on the Helios Neo 16, reducing the refresh rate and disabling HDR can help—especially if you're running the 240Hz WQXGA IPS panel.

To lower the refresh rate:

Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings.
Under “Choose a refresh rate,” select 165Hz or 60Hz if available.
If only 240Hz is listed, try enabling Advanced Optimus in the BIOS and switch to iGPU-only mode via PredatorSense or NVIDIA Control Panel. This may expose lower refresh rate options.
As a last resort, you can use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to define a lower refresh rate, but this may dim the display or cause instability.

To disable HDR:

Go to Settings > System > Display.
Scroll to “Use HDR” and toggle it off.
You may also want to disable Auto HDR in Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Graphics.

Disabling HDR and lowering the refresh rate reduces GPU load and panel power draw, which can help extend battery life to around 3–4 hours under mixed usage. That’s typical for high-performance IPS gaming laptops in this class.

I have a PHN16-71 WUXGA 165Hz with the i5 CPU and battery backup is normal 3-4 hours with the Battery Saver on and using Best Power Efficiency mode in Windows Power & battery settings .

The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI PHN16S-71 model runs the Win-11 24H2 and Win-11 has a refresher rate setting that can be changed and lowered like shown below, so this laptop also has this setting if you want to set it lower but I don't think it will be able to be lowered to 120Hz as its either 240Hz or the lowest 60Hz as shown below.

This is my PHN16-71-50JG models Win-11 System > Display > Advanced display settings that has a 16 inch WXGA G-SYNC 165HZ refresher rate screen that can be set lower to 60.01 HZ setting which will be the same for the PHN16S-71 laptop models.
