I bought two Acer Nitro monitors brand new. The screws that come preinstalled in the monitor though? All but 1 of them is completely jammed. I've been at this for over an hour trying to get these to budge without damaging this **** monitor but nothing is working (tried applying opposite torque briefly, a small amount of mineral oil, and as the screws started to strip the rubber band trick) and at this point the screws are showing no signs of movent and one of them IS probably too stripped to even bother trying anything else.
I don't think I have a drill bit for metal, and I'm hesitant to use that on a monitor anyway. And surely this would risk damaging the grip strength of the actual mounting screws on the metal plate inside if I go even slightly wrong?
Any advice? I'm incredibly angry and frustrated that what should have been a 10 minute job is probably going to require me to spend even MORE money to fix it myself at this point. Not far off just returning the **** things, getting some other brand, and blacklisting Acer for life.
