My acer will only display a blank screen on boot for the internal display and the backlight is on if I set it to the Nvidia GPU only. No BIOS screen or anything. The BIOS boot logo does not appear either, this is happening before windows boots. I have to connect an hdmi display to it so I can switch it back to automatic within nitrosense. The internal display shows up in device manager but you cannot enable it or get it to display.

In automatic, and also optimus mode, the GPU switching does work but the Nvidia control panel shows "Advanced Optimus "NO". There does not seem to be a difference between automatic or optimus. the nvidia inspector shows NO display connected to it regardless if it is being used or not.

Reinstalling os/drivers/updates nothing fixes this. Resetting EC does not fix this. The bios is on the new 1.11 listed as a 2024 release done through windows update. but the support website for download lists bios 1.11 as a 2025 release. You cannot reinstall the bios or downgrade it because they both have 1.11 as the version number.

The display also shows up as generic and is listed as not supporting the following in HWinfo64

It looks like older bios updates added support for things that I am missing, and it feels like these updates were skipped when windows updated the bios to version 1.11. HOW do you fix this if you cannot downgrade the bios?

Thanks for the detailed report. Based on your symptoms—blank screen on dGPU-only mode, no BIOS logo, internal panel only working via HDMI—it appears the internal display is no longer routed to the NVIDIA GPU. This typically indicates a broken MUX switch or Advanced Optimus failure.

Key observations:

BIOS 1.11 was pushed via Windows Update but differs from the version listed on Acer’s support site. Both carry the same version number, preventing rollback.
Older BIOS versions (1.04–1.06) included panel support, G-Sync, HDR, and EC updates. These seem to have been skipped during the update process.
HWinfo64 shows the panel as generic and missing support for HDR, G-Sync, FreeSync, and Adaptive Sync.
NVIDIA Control Panel reports “Advanced Optimus: No,” and Nvidia Inspector confirms no display connected to the dGPU.

Suggested steps:

Connect via HDMI and force dGPU mode to confirm external display routing.
Perform a clean install of the latest NVIDIA driver from the official site: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/
If the issue persists, escalate to Acer support and request either:
1. A rollback utility for BIOS 1.06 or earlier.
2. A re-release of BIOS 1.11 with full panel support integrated.

This issue isn’t isolated—similar reports exist across Nitro models with Advanced Optimus. Until Acer addresses it, HDMI output may be the only stable workaround.

This should not be happening, and if your laptop is still under the Acer 12 months warranty, send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country to fix this.

If its out of warranty, then I suggest that the EC and bios chips need to be re flashed with their appropriate version files which can only be done by a specialist technician that has the files and the flashing tools. Or you only use the NVidia gpu and don't worry about using the 13th Gen cpu graphics, as that is what I'm using with my 13th Gen cpu on my PHN16-71 Neo laptop and it works perfectly and allot better than with the Intel cpu graphics for everything, of course if you use the laptop on battery the Nvidia will use more battery but that is what you have to compromise.
