Microphone Array not working Acer A515-57G

I have a relatively new Acer laptop as above. Only recently have I needed to use the built in microphone (near the camera) for a Zoom meeting, but found it wasn't working. I tried lots of tests and other software that would use the mic, I got in touch with Acer, removed and reinstalled the device through device manager, downloaded the latest drivers both through Acer and Windows update as they suggested

I have even reset the PC and it worked momentarily. I think it was when I used Zoom it worked briefly, but by the time we started the meeting my mic wasn't working again

When I do a test through the sound settings, all it records is a short "zzip" sound. (See attached link). - OK

I could just buy a cheap usb mic, but I shouldn't have to if a component on a relatively new laptop isn't working.

Any ideas before I put in a warranty claim?

1. Check Privacy & Sound Settings

• Microphone Privacy: Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure the toggle for "Allow apps to access your microphone" is turned On. 
• Sound Settings: Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Open sound settings. Under "Input," check if the correct microphone is listed and selected as the input device. 
• Enable the Device: In sound settings, click on the microphone and select Disable, wait a minute, then select Enable to reset it. 

2. Update or Reinstall the Driver

• Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager. 
• Find the Driver: Expand the Audio inputs and outputs or Sound, video and game controller's category and find your microphone. 
• Update/Reinstall: Right-click the microphone driver and select Update driver. If that doesn't help, uninstall the driver, then restart your laptop; Windows will automatically reinstall a new driver. 

3. Run Troubleshooters & System Restore

• Speech Troubleshooter: Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the "Speech" troubleshooter. 
• System Restore: If the issue began after a recent update, right-click the Start button, type rstrui, and press Enter to open System Restore. Select an earlier point on which the microphone was working and follow the on-screen instructions to restore your system. 

4. Roll Back the Driver 

• Roll Back: In Device Manager, right-click your microphone, select Properties, then the Driver tab. Select Roll Back Driver and follow the prompts.
