Hello,
I have Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (2023) i5-13500HX and RTX 4050 (PHN16-71).
I am having Low FPS with Low GPU usage when playing any game (minecraft, stumble guys, etc).
Games also crash after a few minutes (after 5-10 minutes).
I have noticed that an error is also being thrown in event viewer from nvlddmkm with Event ID 14 & 153 with messages:
- UCodeReset TDR occurred on GPUID:100
- Resetting TDR occurred on GPUID:100
- Reset TDR occurred on GPUID:100
- Restarting TDR occurred on GPUID:100
with devices:
- \Device\000000b8
- \Device\000000c0
- \Device\000000c3
- \Device\000000c4
- \Device\Video3 (sometimes)
This is what I have done so far and what happened previously:
1. In my previous Windows 11 installation, my NVIDIA GPU suddenly stopped showing up in task manager and device manager after a random BSOD occurred during normal restart.
2. I have used DDU to remove the NVIDIA GPU drivers from my windows and when trying to install NVIDIA GPU drivers again, it stated that my device doesn't have a NVIDIA GPU.
3. After all of these, I decided to perform a full clean reinstallation of Windows 11 which I did.
4. I used IRST driver from acer drivers website for my laptop model.
5. After the installation, I let Windows Update installed all of the drivers as I have read from a post in this acer community website for my laptop that Windows Update will install all the drivers.
6. I have then installed Intel Graphics Driver from Intel website and then NVIDIA Graphics Driver from NVIDIA website.
7. I have also checked and cross-checked the drivers installed in my pc vs drivers present in acer drivers website for my laptop and confirmed that all of the drivers exist properly and they are either more up-to-date version or same version as in acer website.
8. After doing basic windows setup and then running Minecraft bedrock edition, immediately I noticed that my FPS is pretty low and my GPU usage isn't going above 15%.
9. I have tried other games to make sure and indeed, it happens in those other games too.
10. I have also tried using dGPU only by selecting dGPU in my BIOS and my BIOS version is v1.18 which is the latest for my laptop model.
11. I have then decided to again use DDU to uninstall both Intel and NVIDIA Graphics Drivers which I did.
12. I installed the latest WHQL certified graphics drivers for both and still I am facing the exact same issue.
13. I have then installed Intel PPM provided by Acer from the acer drivers website and still didn't fix my problem.
Now, even after doing full clean windows reinstallation and everything, my problem is still not fixed and I am still facing low FPS and low GPU usage.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
