Hi everyone. Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45, Windows 11 Home 64-bit. Trying to update the Bios. Think I have v. 1.08 and it seems the current version is 1.11? I tried downloading that and running it but every time, both with that and any earlier version, I just get the error 'file cannot be found' and then the program closes. Nothing happens. Not sure what to do. Any assistance appreciated. Speak slowly, I'm not very tech savvy and not entirely sure what I'm doing.
The reason I'm doing this is my fan seems to be in overdrive. It started a few days ago, every now and then. It would go back to normal when I powered down and back up. I opened it up and removed half a cat's worth of hair. That seemed to help, but then the next day the fan noise started up again. Now it's constant. I've worked through most of the fixes ChatGPT suggested, and now onto 'update the bios.' It's only the CPU fan making the racket and running fast all the time, but the GPU now isn't displaying properly in NitroSense. I've tried reinstalling NS but no difference. Nothing is overheating, but it's not monitoring the temp on GPU. And the noise is melting my brain.
Essentially everything's a bit of a mess all of a sudden.
