Hi,
I have a Acer Spin 3, manufactured 2019 with Windows 10. I don't use this laptop often, and mostly while I travel.
- Lately, it cannot boot up, giving me the No bootable Media found message.
- I looked into the BIOS, and the hard disk (SSD/nvme) is listed. So, I tried to get into winre. The power-down while booting up sequence does not get me into winre.
- I created a recovery drive on a Dell computer/Dell laptop. The light on the usb drive blinked. and I got the rotating dots at the ACER logo, showing that recovery is being loaded. After a few minutes, however, it got to a BSOD, and it rebooted. The process repeated over and over again, giving an endless loop of boot-BSOD.
- I also tried creating a Windows 10 installation drive. The same thing as #3 happened.
- I loaded up some Linux live distributions. They all booted up fine and I can use the laptop in Linux. However, all except one cannot see the SSD drive on the Windows. Linux Mint is the only one that can see the drive, but it has a size of 0. I cannot even use fdisk on the nvme drive.
Since I am able to boot Linux, the boot from usb is working. However, I am not able to boot winre/win installation. What else can I do to do the latter to repair the disk?
I need help to restore the laptop. Failing which, I like to be able to get the contents of the SSD out.
Thanks for any help/pointers.
