Before getting myself an external ssd, I was tight for storage space on my PC, so I use windows cleanup tool to delete some non essential files. An option was to delete files that had something to do with drivers. I figured that it could not be that bad since it was Windows suggesting it. So I did it. It work great for freeing up some space, but now every time I plugged in a new audio device (every switch from speakers to headphone jack) it would have an annoying popup something Realtek could not be started. Added to that, the first time plugging in headphones it would not recognize them, only the second time it would. Being annoyed after a week I thought I would fix it. I looked up a tutorial followed it, it did not work. I ended up deleting the "problematic" driver thinking I could reinstall them from the Acer driver downloads, but those don't seam to work for me. I tried the one found on Realtek's site, also no results I have been trying for the last week to get audio back to my laptop without other devices (bluetooth or hdmi). But nothing has worked for me.

    Hi Kobe_W,

Avoid so‑called “cleaner” utilities like CCleaner, IObit Advanced SystemCare, and similar 3rd‑party bloatware. These tools can damage the Windows registry, remove essential system components, and are impossible to fully uninstall once embedded. They often cause more harm than they claim to fix.

Given the driver and audio issues you’re facing, the safest and most effective route is to repair Windows using the built‑in recovery via Windows Update. This will reinstall your current Windows version while keeping your files, apps, and settings intact.

    Steps:

    1. Open Settings → System → Recovery.
    2. Under Fix problems using Windows Update, select Reinstall now.
    3. Follow the prompts and keep your PC connected to power and the internet until the process completes.

Full instructions are in Microsoft’s guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-issues-by-reinstalling-the-current-version-of-windows-497ac6da-7cac-4641-82a5-f50398d879a0

The audio in your Aspire A715-75G laptop is governed by the Intel or Realtek audio drivers (check Device manager ) and the Intel and NVidia graphics drivers that also have an audio component attached to them and you have to reinstall all these drivers before the audio will come back and operate properly.

So uninstall all these drivers from Device Manager and Control Panel > Uninstall a program first and then reinstall the initial Acer drivers below and allow windows update to update them to the most current and compatible drivers for your Aspire A715-75G laptop. As doing all this will reinstate the audio fully and perfectly. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

These are the Acer initial drivers that you should install from Intel, NVidia and Realtek:

    1. Audio - Either Intel 10.25.00.3488 or the Realtek 6.0.8904.1
    2. Intel Graphics - version 27.20.100.8280
    3. NVidia Graphics - VGA Utility (GeForce Experience) version 3.20.3.63

Install all the above drivers as your audio should reinstate and work perfectly.

After uninstalling the faulty driver, Windows automatically installs a generic audio driver that often restores basic sound functionality. If that doesn't meet your needs, you can safely download and install the official driver from Acer’s support site to ensure full compatibility and enhanced audio features.

Well you can reinstall the audio driver by going in the driver manager and download the audio driver form the official website.
